Jesse Marsch, the manager of Leeds, called their 1-0 loss to Arsenal “cruel.”
The first-half goal from Bukayo Saka was sufficient to keep the Gunners in first place in the Premier League.
Marsch did not make use of the officials’ and VAR’s rulings that were made right after the game.
He did, however, praise his team’s performance during the post-game press conference.
Marsch described himself as “disappointed and a little frustrated, but also proud of the way we played.”
“We’ve played a number of games where we were in control and the superior team, but we couldn’t find a way to score the goals we deserved.
“And then it keeps the opponent around and gives them a chance to score or take the lead, which makes sport feel incredibly cruel,” the author continued. We must improve in the last third.
