Khan Won’t Comment On Punk, Won’t Rule Out Elite vs Undisputed Elite

With Team AEW doing a full media blitz ahead of the Grand Slam tonight (September 21) in New York City, we knew a few interviewers would ask about everything that contributed and the post went on-all out play. When the subject of the interview is the lead Tony Khan, there’s also a question or two about the future of men. Suspended For Conflict The morning of 5 September.

Now, we didn’t expect to get an answer… and certainly no straight answer. Maxwell Jacob Friedman handled it quite cleverly when he was Interview by Ariel Helwani on Monday.

For the last few days it is the turn of vaccines. He’s not telling us much. He’s certainly not saying anything as amusing as MJF. But perhaps we can draw something from what the owner, president and Booker of AEW said.

before his Tuesday appearance 105.3’s on the Rock of San Diego performance, hosts Eddie and Thor recap a lot of what happened after the Labor Day weekend PPV. when he asked about punk’s gripbombKhan focused on the positive:

“Well, I can’t really comment on that. I’ll mention Champions of Champions and the AEW Grand Slam instead… Since All Out, we’ve really been at our strongest point, one year Our strongest business in the world. In fact, we’re right up there with the strongest business ever… But I have to tell you, what’s happening in the ring is the most exciting thing in wrestling right now.”

Pressed about “what’s going on behind the scenes”, Tony sticks to his guns:

“Well, I think what’s happening is the best show in pro wrestling, last night on TBS, the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. It’s going to be Jon Moxley vs. American Dragon Brian Danielson in the finals of the Grand Slam tournament of champions last night. Since then all out, it’s been a very newsworthy show, and they’ve been some of our best shows and our best ratings too. It’s for a reason – because AEW has played great matches. There is a lot of excitement in the company right now, and not just all the big championship fights, people are very excited about MJF’s return. it is too big. That’s one of the main things we’re focusing on at AEW…”

Another attempt was made, using MJF, as Khan was asked if Punk’s fight took away from his return. You can probably guess how this happened:

“I’m not going to comment on that again, but I will say that the return of MJF has been a massive needle mover for AEW, it has generated a ton of interest. MJF is back on Wednesday night gunpowder… been great. I think that’s another reason we’ve seen a great ratings bump. He’s a great star and a huge part of AEW.”

After Running That Gauntlet, Khan Faces a Friendly Task Feather in click, Host Baby Huey points to the situation that’s making headlines when talking about things like Jon Moxley leave your vacation for the tournament. This approach actually got a bit much without comment, but TK still went fast to promote this week and beyond:

“Of course there were some unforeseen circumstances before the Grand Slam, and we tried to make the best of it. And I think we have…”

Discussions of changing plans resurfaced when Huey asked about a larger event AEW was setting up that now seems unlikely – The Elite vs. The Undisputed Elite. Maybe it’s nothing, or just hype. But it’s interesting that when asked what could happen there, Khan doesn’t rule out that it might happen someday…

“It would be interesting to go back and think about it. Certainly, while it hasn’t come to fruition, you know, you never know. I certainly don’t want to rule out the possibility of it potentially happening someday.” But on the other hand, you mentioned some injuries and unforeseen circumstances. But they are all great wrestlers and two great trios, of course.”

There is probably nothing to read about the state of Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, as Bobby Fish’s departure and hurt adam cole And Kyle O’Reilly To re-watch that program present equally great obstacles.

But we’re mining some quotes for you. Let us know if you make any of them in the comments below.
