This week in Bungie – 9/22/2022 > News

Our player support team is incredible, as we say every week. They are the best when it comes to landing in the trenches and casting magic. For this week, we’re previewing today’s hotfix that addresses things like the 120Hz deciding to go AWOL and PlayStation 4 startup issues. The team is back once again to break it all down for you. Here is his report.

Today, hotfix was released to the world. Below is a list of some of the issues resolved with this hotfix:

  • PlayStation 4s may crash on title screen after pre-ordering Lightfall.
  • The 120Hz refresh rate option is missing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
  • The seismic strike moves the camera to first person view instead of third person view.

crucible quitter pop-up

We are currently investigating an issue where players would accidentally receive an early match leave pop-up when launching directly from the Crucible post-match screen in another activity. If this happens, the players will not get a penalty. Pop-ups can be reduced by returning to class before starting a new activity.

known aspects

While we continue to investigate various known aspectsHere is a list of the latest issues that were reported to us in our #help forum:
  • The Queen’s Wrath advantage over Wish-Ender Exotic Bow works inconsistently on some PvP maps.
  • The Nine Lives Ghost Shell does not contain flavor text.
  • Duplicate shader rewards may fall from Bright Engram.
  • Public event dialogue audio on Nessus does not trigger correctly when participating in an event.
  • The turrets are exceedingly bright in Ketchrakash activity.
  • Players can be killed while activating the bells in Duel.

Bruno: Evan is enjoying some well-timed vacation, so I’m in charge of the movies this time. Obviously, that means a lot of animation. I’m always amazed by the incredible talent among the artists in our community and we can get both a profound anime ending and a weird tribute to the Hive pantheon in a single week.

hippie: We have pirates. We have art. We have… sprot? OK, that’s… uh, that’s it. It’s great to see how excited the Guardians are about Season of Plunder and taking over pirate groups while making Edo proud. Clearing those shoulders after a mentally heavy season of Haunted has been a welcome treat, and it’s hilarious to see all the ways you’re all leaning towards it. Like with Sprout. Wow, good debate, hippies.

Otherwise too.

art of the week: Yo-Ho-Ho and a bottle of Sprout*

Sam: For the past few weeks I’ve shared an enchantment (I know, come on, Sam, you call yourself an enchantment chief…), but this week we have something so beautiful that we think everyone should can be forgiven.

hippie: Sliding in another time with a bonus piece of art, because I think we all deserve a reminder that rest is important and chillin’ is good for your mental health. Treat yourself.

and that’s a wrap! There’s only one more TWAB to go before it gets scary in October! We’ve already given out Festival of the Lost dates for this year at last TWAB, but we have a few more things to share about it before we bust out the festive masks once again. Because let’s be honest, those masks—they’re a gift from the gods. Or from our design team, you know… either/or.

A moment of silence for them:
