Tokyo Game Show 2022 Second Day Show Floor Round-up

Hey readers! Andrew is here again, reporting on the second day of the show floor experiences at the Tokyo Game Show 2022.

This time around, I took a look at some of the most sought-after booths and practical experiences the venue had to offer. Since the second business day was also open to the public from noon, it took some significant effort (and a very To play these titles, but some of them were worth the wait. Although I was unfortunately unable to cover all the games I had planned, below are some of the more notable games I played.

Resident Evil Village VR

whoo boy, As someone who has never used a VR headset before, I greatly underestimated how impressive the experience can be. And whether it’s the PSVR 2’s newly upgraded hardware, the haptic controller, or the bus environment Resident Evil Village, Capcom’s VR Experience It was scary in a way that felt brand new.

The combat system of the demo was relatively straightforward. You play as Ethan Winters, and start with a knife tied in your left hand. Using the handheld controls, you can hold the knife with your right hand and also use it to stab, cut, or throw it at enemies. After entering Castle Dimitrescu, you receive a handgun that holds 10 rounds per magazine. What’s more, once you’re out of bullets, you have to manually eject the spent cartridge, take out the second magazine, load it by hand, and then cock the barrel. If you’re not used to that process, reloading can feel like ages, especially when Ghouls want to slice you into bits.

One thing I want to note is how huge Lady Dimitrescu looks when you’re wearing a VR headset. She already appears on the big screen, but in VR, she looks like the nine-foot-six giant she really is.

However, there are some downsides. During my 10-minute demo, there was an occasion when my head was temporarily cut off from Ethan’s body while going to repair Ethan’s hook injuries. On top of that, the PSVR 2 headset took a long time to adjust due to the fact that I was wearing glasses. While it wasn’t entirely playable, it’s worth considering for those who are unable to wear contacts or otherwise require glasses to see clearly.

atelier riza 3

I atelier riza 3 One shot partly because a lot of people were talking about how this would be a “beginner-friendly” entry in the series. By the time I reached someone at Tecmo’s booth, a line had lasted about an hour. The 15-minute demo was on PS5, and the game’s graphics were impeccable, to say the least. While the exploreable map was quite large, there were no noticeable framerate drops or graphical issues.

The exploration aspect made use of landmarks for fast travel and zip lines for fast traversal, which I thought was quite convenient. The landmarks also served the additional purpose of providing free “keys” to players from time to time. These keys come with various bonuses once used, ranging from extra combat skills to instant rewards. In my case, I found a key that gave me a wealth of alchemy supplies. Alchemy also appears to be unchanged atelier riza 2Each addition of an ingredient in a given recipe enhances the effect of the product, as well as unlocking further effects.

Also, I really liked Ryza’s new outfit design. Just outside the demo area was another installation showcasing three life-sized Rieslin Stout figurines, each sculpture modeled after his appearance in all three. atelier riza New addition of a childhood friend brunnen forest Also added some good camaraderie during the fights, though some of the voice quips became a bit repetitive. To finish it off, Rieslin himself gave a special intro and farewell greeting at the beginning and end of the demo.

Like a dragon: Were!

Like a dragon: Were! An interesting story, and I was immediately hooked when RGG Studios first announced it. You play as Sakamoto Ryoma, a Japanese historical figure credited with pushing Edo Japan into modernization. But technically, you’re also No Sakamoto Ryoma. You play as Kazuma Kiryu, who calls himself Ryoma, and joins a Shinsengumi loyalist group to avenge his father. It’s a bit complicated.

Although I was initially disappointed that RGG’s commentary on the popular revolutionary did not speak with the Tosa dialect, I quickly realized that any historical accuracy was completely thrown out the window. Like a dragon: Were! game is competition surprisingly over the top, goofy, and bloody. You fight in the streets of Kyoto, swing blades, shoot bullets, create strange black holes that suck enemies in, and create tornadoes. At the end of the day, what’s not to love?

More importantly, the upcoming remake of the 2014 PS3 title is simply beautiful. As the comparison screenshots have shown, RGG Studios has greatly improved the graphics of the cutscenes and manages to keep them consistent shot-to-shot. If you’ve enjoyed recent improvements kiwami Remake, with its cast familiar characters And the story beats, you’re bound to love Like Dragon: Were! I didn’t find any problems playing the game on the PS5, but you may want to keep an eye out for performance issues on the PS4.

At the end of the day, I half expected that I wouldn’t be here exoprimal, Due to the one-hour demo (probably the longest demo of TGS 2022), there was a continuous line of people in front of the booth. Fortunately, I managed to sneak in at the last moment, and even had to play them longer than I had originally planned.

suffice it to say, exoprimal That was probably the highlight of my experience at the Tokyo Game Show. During our hour-long session, I played three game modes with a total of ten people. the first was a 5v5 mode, in which two teams compete to pass the level of the fastest dinosaur. We also played a deliver-the-payload mode, in which teams of two had to escort a “data-cube” while defending against dinosaurs and, eventually, the enemy team. Finally, we played a PvE mode, with all ten players fighting against hordes of dinosaurs and a giant “Neo-Tyrannosaurus”.

the most satisfying part of exoprimal There was class coordination. During my time playing, I focused primarily on using Tank-class roadblocks, including dinosaurs and a giant shield to fend off projectile attacks. As my team fought against our enemies, I really felt like I was saving my squishier teammates from being chewed to pieces. On the other hand, our team’s healer was also working round the clock to keep me on top with health, while our longtime allies blew their way through groups of enemies. In addition, I could quickly change my orbit at any time during the mission if there was a need for different team compositions or tactics. Overall, I’m incredibly excited for this exoprimal To officially launch in 2023.

That’s a wrap for the second day of the Tokyo Game Show 2022 going on the show floor! While I’m taking a break from playing demos for the rest of the event, be sure to keep an eye out for some other highlights and merchandise round-ups in the coming days. And while this year’s TGS was smaller than previous years, I hope to see some of you here in the near future as well.

As always, here are the essential photos of your dino and palmute.
